It's me... Andrew C. Chalmers.
My professional career has been spent in and around all of the facets of the building industry.
Growing up I was a 'typical' boy fascinated with how things went together and how building 'systems' worked (or didn't). I have lived through, with and later participated in several historic home renovations.
I have been a self-employed builder/ remodeler of homes in New England for 15+ years.
I have been involved in commercial building material sales.
I am a Professional Estimator and Project Manager; having worked for 8 years with the Mount Washington Valley's largest, most prestigious residential and commercial builder.
For a number of years I provided Municipal Building Inspections, Life Safety Inspections for the Towns of Bartlett and Jackson in addition to providing both residential and commercial building inspections in addition to my Estimation and Project Administration responsibilities.
It was during my tenure with a previous employer that I realized that all of my life experience and education could be bundled together to provide a valuable service to; businesses, municipalities, home owners, future business owners and people with the dream of home ownership.
Chalmers Building Services was born.
Chalmers Building Services continues as the Municipal Building Inspector for the Town of Jackson. I have been fortunate in that the relationships that I had developed while working at BTS have chosen to continue working with me on my new venture.
In addition to my expertise in the Building and Project Administration fields I have been a sitting member of the Town of Conway's Zoning Board for better than a decade. I have first hand knowledge of Zoning rules and regulations.
I know that choosing the right person or firm to perform a job can be difficult. Different professionals have varying qualifications, equipment, and experience. Levels of service vary. Ultimately, a thorough job depends heavily on an individual’s own effort.
